Another week, another square! I really liked last weeks square, and so I thought I would do a variation of it for this weeks square! I hope you guys like it!

Granny Square – Puffs and Spirals Square
All crochet patterns and terms I use are in UK, but if you want them in US then check out this handy stitch converter.
Materials:
- DK yarn in various colours – I’m still using Stylecraft DK yarn that I got in my order from Deramores =D
- 3mm hook
- Embroidery or Darning needle
Skills used/required:
- Treble Crochet (tc)
- Double Treble Crochet (dtc)
- Half Treble Crochet (htc)
- Chaining
- Slip stitch (sl st)
- double crochet (dc)
- 5 tc puff stitch (5tc-puff)
- Long double crochet (long dc)
I hope you guys enjoy making this square, I really like the final look of it!
Row 0: Ch 2,8 dc in 2ch from hook, sl st into first dc. (8 stitches total)
Row 1: ch 1, 2dc in each stitch around, sl st into first dc. (16 stitches total)
Row 2: ch 3, * htc, dc, htc, tc, *. Repeat from * twice more. Finish with htc, dc, htc, sl st into ch3 in 3ch. (16 stitches total)
Row 3: ch 1, dc in same stitch, *htc, tc, dtc, ch 4 (corner), dc *. Repeat from * twice more. Finish with htc, tc, dtc, dtc into ch 1 ( this counts as the 4 ch corner). (16 stitches total)
Row 4: ch 1, *2 dc and a 2 htc in corner space, tc, tc , dtc, dtc, ch 4 (corner)*. Repeat from * twice more. Finish with 2 dc and 2 htc in corner space, tc, tc, dtc, dtc, dtc into ch 1 (this counts as the 4 ch corner). (32 stitches total)
Row 5: ch 1, *3 dc and a htc in corner space, htc, htc, tc, tc, tc, dtc, dtc, dtc, ch 4 (corner) *. Repeat from * twice more. Finish with 3 dc and a htc in corner space, htc, htc, tc, tc, tc , dtc, dtc, dtc, dtc into ch 1 (this counts as the 4 ch corner). (48 stitches total)
Row 6: ch 5 (counts as htc, ch 3), 3 htc in corner space, htc in each stitch around, (1 htc, ch 3, 4 htc) in each subsequent corner space. Finish with sl st into ch 2 of 5ch. (68 stitches total)
Row 7: ch 3, * (2tc, ch2, 2tc) in corner space, tc, tc, 5tc-puff stitch, sk st, tc, sk st, 5tc-puff stitch, sk st, tc, sk st, 5tc-puff stitch, sk st, tc, sk st, 5tc-puff stitch, tc *. Repeat from * twice more. Finish with (2tc, ch2, 2tc) in corner space, tc, tc, 5tc-puff stitch, sk st, tc, sk st, 5tc-puff stitch, sk st, tc, sk st, 5tc-puff stitch, sk st, tc, sk st, 5tc-puff stitch, sl st into 3ch on ch3. (56 stitches total)
Row 8: ch 1, dc in same stitch and then dc in each stitch around. For corner spaces, (2dc, ch2, 2dc), and for previous row skipped stitches, long dc into stitch in row 6. Finish with sl st into 1st dc.(96 stitches total)
Row 9: ch1, dc in same stitch and then dc in each stitch around. For corner spaces, (2dc, ch2, 2dc). Finish with sl st into 1st dc. (112 stitches total)
