I really liked the middle bit of our wavy square from the other week, and so I decided to do a different border on the same middle. And thus, the border square was born! I think this is another square you could make a full blanket out of, as I really love all the colours.

Granny Square -Border square
All crochet patterns and terms I use are in UK, but if you want them in US then check out this handy stitch converter.
Materials:
- DK yarn in various colours – I’m still using Stylecraft DK yarn that I got in my order from Deramores =D
- 3mm hook
- Embroidery or Darning needle ( for weaving in ends )
Skills used/required:
- Double crochet (dc)
- chaining
- treble crochet (tc)
- Double treble crochet (dtc)
Gauge:
Final square = 12cm
Row 0: ch 5, join to first ch with sl st.
Row 1: ch 3 (counts as first tc), 15 tc into ring. Fasten off. (16 stitches total)
Row 2: join to any tc. ch 4 (counts as first tc and ch 1 space), *tc into next stitch, ch 1 *. Repeat from * 14 more times. Finish off with sl st into ch3 of beginning 4ch. (16 stitches total)
Row 3: sl st into ch 1 space, ch 3 (counts as first tc), tc into same ch 1 space, ch 1, * 2tc into next ch 1 space, ch 1 *. Repeat from * 14 more times. Finish off with sl st into ch 3 of beginning 3ch. Fasten off. (32 stitches total)
Row 4: join yarn in any ch 1 space. Ch 3 (counts as dc and ch 2), dc in the next ch 2 space, * ch 2, tc in next ch 1 space, ch 5, tc in next ch 1 space, ch 2, dc in the next ch 1 space, ch 2, dc in the next ch 1 space *. Repeat from * twice more. Finish off with ch 2, tc in next ch 1 space, ch 5, tc in next ch 1 space, ch 2, sl st into ch 1 of original ch3. (16 stitches total)
Row 5: sl st into ch 2 space. ch3 (counts as 1 tc), 3tc into each ch2 space, and (3tc, ch 3, 3tc) into each ch 5 corner space. (60 stitches total)
Row 6: Tc in each stitch around. (2tc, ch3, 2tc) in each corner ch 3 space. Fasten off. (76 stitches total)
Row 7: join yarn in corner ch 3 space. dc in each stitch around, (4dc) in each corner ch 3 space. Fasten off. (92 stitches total)
Row 8: join yarn in any stitch. dc in each stitch around. Fasten off. (92 stitches total)
Row 9: join yarn in any stitch. dc in each stitch around, for middle 2 dc in corner, 2dc in each .Fasten off. (100 stitches total)
