Granny Square – Winter Flower square

All crochet patterns and terms I use are in UK, but if you want them in US then check out this handy stitch converter.
Materials:
- DK yarn in various colours – I’m still using Stylecraft DK yarn that I got in my order from Deramores =D
- 3mm hook
- Embroidery or Darning needle ( for weaving in ends )
Skills used/required:
- Treble Crochet (tc)
- Chaining
- Slip stitch (sl st)
- Double treble crochet together (dtc – tog)
- cluster stitching – (3 tc cl)
- Double crochet (dc)
- Equals stitch (eq st)
- Half treble crochet (htc)
Gauge:
Final square = 12cm
Row 0: Ch 6, sl st into 1st ch to make a ring.
Row 1: Ch 3 (counts a 1htc, ch 1), *htc, ch 1 into the ring* . Repeat from * 14 more times. Finish off with sl st into ch 2 of 2 ch. (16 stitches total)
Row 2: Sl st into ch 1 space, ch 6 ( counts as tc, ch 3), * 3 tc cl into next ch 1 space, ch 3, tc into next ch 1 space, ch 3 * .Repeat from * six more times. Finish off with 3 tc cl into next ch 1 space, ch 3, sl st into ch 3 of beginning ch 6. Fasten off. ( 16 stitches total; 8 tc, 8 tc cl)
Row 3: Attach new yarn to any ch 3 space. Ch 5 ( counts as tc, ch 2), * tc into next ch 3 space, ch 2, 2 dtc – tog into next ch 3 space, ch 5, 2 dtc – tog into next ch 3 space, ch 2, tc into next ch 3 space, ch 2 * .Repeat from * twice more. Tc into next ch 3 space, ch 2, 2 dtc – tog into next ch 3 space, ch 5, 2 dtc – tog into next ch 3 space. Finish off with ch 2, sl st into ch 3 of beginning ch 5. (16 stitches total)
Row 4: Ch 1, * 2 dc into ch 2 space, dc into tc st from previous row, 2 dc into next ch 2 space, dc into 2 dtc – tog from previous row, (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) into next ch sp, dc into 2 dtc – tog from previous row, 2 dc into next ch sp, dc into tc st from previous row * . Repeat from * three more times. Finish off with sl st into beginning dc. Fasten off. (64 stitches total)
Row 5: Attach yarn to corner ch 2 space. Ch 3 (counts as tc), $ * equals stitch in next st, tc * . Repeat from * 4 more times. Equals stitch, (tc, ch 3, tc) into the corner ch 2 space $. Repeat from $ twice more. Repeat from * once more. Finish off with tc, ch 3 into beginning ch 2 space, sl st into beginning ch 3. Fasten off. (52 stitches total)
Row 6: Attach yarn to corner ch 3 space. Ch 3, (tc, ch 2, 2 tc) into ch 3 space. Tc, ch 1 into every stitch, and (2 tc, ch 2, 2tc) into each ch 3 corner space. Finish off with sl st into beginning ch 3. Fasten off. (68 stitches total)
You should now have a finished square! I really do hope you guys like it =)
