Hi Guys!
It’s here! Stitch Up part 2, so let’s get cracking!
Happy crocheting,
Abigail
CAL – Part 41
Border – pt.2

All crochet patterns and terms I use are in UK, but if you want them in US then check out this handy stitch converter.
Materials:
- DK yarn in white – I’m still using Stylecraft DK yarn that I got in my order from Deramores =D
- 3mm hook
- Embroidery or Darning needle ( for weaving in ends )
Skills used/required:
- Treble crochet (tc)
- Chaining
- Slip stitch (sl st)
For your first square, we attach the yarn into the corner ch3 space. ch 6 ( counts as tc, ch 3), (tc, ch3, tc, ch 3, tc) into the same ch 3 corner space, * ch 3, tc into the next ch 5 space, ch 1, tc into the next ch 5 space, ch 3, ((tc, ch 3) * 3, tc) into the next ch 5 space, ch 3, tc into the next ch 5 space, ch 1, tc into the next ch 5 space, ch 3, ((tc, ch3) * 3, tc) into the same ch 3 corner space * . Repeat from * twice more. Ch 3, tc into the next ch 5 space, ch 1, tc into the next ch 5 space, ch 3, ((tc, ch 3) * 3, tc) into the next ch 5 space, ch 3, tc into the next ch 5 space, ch 1, tc into the next ch 5 space, ch 3. Finish off with sl st into ch3 of beginning 6ch.
When it comes to attaching squares together, you will need to use a sl st. This is the pattern for attaching rows.
Start with 2 squares, one with second stitch up row complete, and working on the other square. Start in corner ch 3 space, with side you want to stitch together. Ch 6 ( counts as tc, ch 3), BEGIN SIDE STITCH UP, ( tc, ch 1, sl st into middle ch3 corner space from other square, ch 1, tc, ch 1, sl st into side ch 3 corner space from other square, ch 1, tc) into same ch 3 space, ch 3, tc into the next ch 5 space, tc into the ch 1 space from the other square, tc into the next ch 5 space, ch 3, (tc, ch 1, sl st into end ch3 space from other square, ch1, tc, ch 1, sl st into middle ch3 space from other square, ch1, tc, ch 1, sl st into end ch3 space from other square, ch1, tc) into the next ch 5 space, ch 3, tc into the next ch 5 space, tc into the ch 1 space from the other square, tc into the next ch 5 space, ch 3, (tc, ch 1, sl st into side ch3 corner space from other square, ch 1, tc, ch 1, sl st into middle ch 3 corner space from other square, ch 1, tc, END SIDE STITCH UP, ch 3, tc ) into the same ch 3 corner space.
For those of you who prefer to work from the charts I have made one for the border, using square 14 as a base. This part of the border is shown in blue, and works from the top right hand corner round.

I hope you enjoy this part and that it makes sense; the joining together part can always be a bit tricky!! If you need an extra bit of guidance please don’t be afraid to reach out to me our leave me a comment and I will try to add additional notes!
By the end of this you should have all of the pieces together and ready to make a border next weekend! The border may also be a two-parter as I have big plans for it, I hope you’re excited =D I’ll update this post in the week with a shot of my stitched together blanket as I’m not quite there myself yet =D Typical!
I want your blankets to be gorgeous so please don’t hesitate to ask questions =) Have a lovely evening all,
Abigail
